Hape – Tobacco Magic

Hape (or Rapé) is tobacco snuff blowed in the nostrils to clear the energy, clear sinus infections, clear headaches and prepare us for other medicines. It is made from the ashes of sacred tabacco (mapacho) and the cortex of the tree (sinsi). It is sometimes mixed with other fresh leaves from plants and herbs. Ashes can be created by slow burning it or leaving the tabacco exposed to the sun for several hours until it dries si it can easily be pulverized with the hand.

Hape is administered by blowing the snuff up each nostril in succession. Hape helps to clear sinus problems and headaches, it also may induce heightened awareness, mental focus, clarity, deeper meditation, cleansing, grounding, emotional and energetic release, spiritual insight and opening and awakening of the heart.

When administered as part of the Kambô treatment, Hape is used to facilitate the release of blockages and encourages the purging process.
